Adults Project

The project is intended to support the financial inclusion agenda’s and is focused on maximisation of families income in the 5 LSOA’s within the cluster that have the highest rates of income related benefits through:

  • Providing early intervention and education of financial literacy.
  • Supporting the further development of credit unions.
  • Development of a support information pack for household budget management
  • Raise the profile of fuel poverty – promoting home energy initiatives
  • Promoting initiatives/projects relating to child poverty – school uniform recycling schemes, baby cost calculators, young people’s guides to money.
  • Raise awareness of benefit entitlement to maximise family income.

Communities First will identify clients’ needs relating to financial literacy. Taylor-made support and signposting will be offered to assist families / individuals in maximising family income, this specialist assistance will be delivered by CAB. This will take place at the following Community access points across the cluster:

  • Troedyrhiw
  • Merthyr Vale
  • Treharris
  • Bedlinog

Schools Project

Project aims to target primary school children from families on income related benefits.
